Tally Prime is an accounting and enterprise business software. It was developed by Shyam Sunder and Bharat Goenka in the year 1991. The first version was an MS DoS version but the company advanced to many more sophisticated versions with robust features. The MS-DOS version was named as Peutronics Accountant Version. In the year 1999, the company name was changed to Tally Solutions. Many other versions followed and the company grew to a new level with more than 7 million subscribers.

In 2016, Tally Solutions was shortlisted as a GST Suvidha Provider to provide an interface between the new GST Server and taxpayers, and in 2017, the company launched its updated GST compliance software.

In 2020, the company released TallyPrime.

In 2022, they introduced the TallyPrime Edit Log.

 

The company launched Tally 9 a multilingual version in the year 2006 but the most popular version was Tally ERP Prime.
